An interesting divergence opens up in major stock average futures, the DJIA +0.9%, the S&P 500 +0.5%, the Nasdaq 100 -0.1%. Apple (and its big miss) is dragging down the Nasdaq (and the S&P on a relative basis), with Caterpillar and Boeing (and their big beats) helping the Dow.

Before you get your panties in a bunch, pay attention to 12 months ago, when IPhone 5 anticipation put the same 10 percent damper on prior version demand--only to be followed by 100 percent increases in sales in the final quarter. Also note that there is zero for AppleTV in guidance yesterday (Cook claiming new products are secret). If the 'divergence' is based on this AAPL stock drop, it's 100 percent illusory. Look at JNPR, BRCM, ALTR earnings and stock action for a better view of tech.

Strong correlation between markets performance and stocks like Apple, Google is well known.
Apple disappointed investors, reporting $9.32 in earnings for the quarter ending June 30, 2012, and shares are down sharply today.
It was not in surprice for me.
Last days money outflow from AAPL was noted by
I Know First stock forecast system ,
I am using with good results so far.
Yet the latest balance sheet shows the company now has $117.2 billion in cash - an increase of about $7 billion over last quarter and about $41 billion more than in June of 2011.
IMO time to buy AAPL on dips for the long term is near.
    Good Luck!

Have a look and decide if you actually see the same patterns in Nokia back 2000/2001 as in Apple today 2012.
