Prospect Capital (PSEC +4.2%) ends a two-month proxy fight by terminating its offer to buy Allied Capital (ALD +1.8%), blaming Allied's unwillingness to talk after arranging to sell itself to Ares Capital (ARCC +1.2%) for an estimated $648M. Allied approved a special $0.20 dividend conditional on approving the Ares sale.
