Gold's performance over the past year (flat) actually isn't so bad given the dollar has risen 12%, according to JPMorgan's gold team. Still the group remains cautious on the metal and miners (especially amidst reporting season) as declining inflation rates suggest monetary stimulus isn't as forceful as commonly believed.

  • Gold flat but miners down 30%. That much disconnect cannot last and is a buy opportunity. http://seekingalpha.co...

  • I think the miners are a great buy here. I like NUGT to get 3x the exposure as its sitting at the 52 week low along with the miners. Get in now for a big gain. There is not much downside left.

  • JPM are the biggest manipulators of metals so better listen to them.

  • Yep, but is this a bluff or a double-bluff on their part? I'll stick with NUGT at the moment.

  • JPM has a "Gold team" with real people?

I thought they just used a giant computer emanating Sell orders at nanosecond intervals?

  • Hehe, they have two computers and two accounts on the COMEX. The first computer hits the bids of the second computer. Then the second computer pulls its bids lower. The first computer hits the lower bids as well and so the game continues.

  • I would think that a dabble of GDXJ may not be a bad idea, I have now 100 shares, and am thinking of adding soon, not just yet though. lets see what happens in Aug.
    JUST in from Treasure Island.
Bought a new one real, with a beautiful gold setting. Time now to be buying numismatics and old treasure coins. BEWARE where you buy them from. I buy and sell them and will be glad to advise you how to do it. Been working treasure for over 2 decades and have contacts which know the prices and goods stuff from across the room.
