The next version of Microsoft Outlook (MSFT), shipping as part of Office 2013, will feature tight LinkedIn (LNKD) integration. Profile information and network activity for connections who e-mail a user will automatically appear in his/her inbox. The tie-up should further cement LinkedIn's dominant status in professional social networking, and might also help if the company rolls out a private networking solution to compete with Jive (JIVE) and (ironically) Microsoft's Yammer, as some expect it to.

    So JIVE has a private social networking solution among other solutions. Chatter from CRM has a private social networking solution among other solutions. Yammer is solely a private social networking solution.

     

    And now LNKD will be integrated into MSFT Office. Interesting.....Isn't Jive also integrated into MSFT?

     

    Yammer claims 200k companies using it's service, Chatter claims 150k using its service. Not sure how many companies are using Jive Social Intranet.
