Rallying big on statements from an A-list of EU honchos that will be difficult to actually implement, world stock markets may be set up for major disappointment this week. The EFSF can't buy Spanish debt until Spain requests a bailout, the ESM isn't up an running yet, and the ECB's SMP remains dormant. Will a rate cut and another loosening of collateral requirements do the trick? Hardly.

I do agree with a possibility of disappointment and a selloff. As such, I am both long and short certain positions, but less exposure overall given an overbought condition that could go either way.

If inept leaders could simply reiterate contrived statements to stem this crisis, it would've been resolved many times over years ago. No matter what they promise this week, the eurozone and the USA will pay dearly for their insolvency.

Disturbing how reactive the markets are to 'comments out of the EU', particularly when these comments are from those with so little credibility. These short term speculations underscore the instability in the worldwide economic environment. Will be interesting to watch how the next six months unfolds.
