The Pentagon extends the deadline for proposals to replace its aging aerial-refueling tanker fleet to give EADS time to submit a rival bid to Boeing's (BA) after EADS' partner Northrop Grumman (NOC) dropped out of the race in March. Northrop had offered the EADS Airbus A330 as a platform for the new fleet; it's unclear whether EADS will offer the same aircraft or something larger.
