Airbus parent EADS is running out of options on its struggling bid for a refueling tanker contract, after the Pentagon extended a deadline to let it shape up its offer. After Northrop Grumman (NOC) dropped out as a partner, EADS had been in talks with L-3 Communications (LLL), which reportedly has also backed away. The deal - more and more likely headed to Boeing (BA) - may be worth $50B.
