Let's hope that Ford is not too late as GM and VW already appear to be providing the brands of choice with the car-buying public. Ford arrived in China nearly 10 years behind GM, which won a crucial partnership with Shanghai Automotive Industrial Corp. in 1995 Volkswagen built its first car in China in 1985.

Something else to think about..The Ford Model 'T', at one time, sold more cars than any other in the USA. Many thought that record will never be broken. Then came the VW 'Beetle' (Germany) as the model that sold the most. Well, that for sure will never be broken, some said. Then came the Toyota 'Corolla' (Japan) as selling more cars in the US than any other.
What's to say that Ford won't someday hold the record for most cars sold in China with their new model 'NoMoWoKing' ?

I don't know that Ford needs any lessons from GM or VW but it never hurts to see what the competion has done right and what they have done wrong, then set your track accordingly.
