General Motors (GM -0.1%) invests in a company that has developed a lightweight-steel prototype that could help the automaker produce more fuel-efficient cars in the future. The automaker's VC arm fired up the investment in NanoSteel for an undisclosed amount in the hope that its steel alloy technology will be a game changer.
