Opening bids for Eastman Kodak's patent portfolio came in at $150-250M, well below the $2.6B the bankrupt company said they could be worth, the WSJ reports. The bids came from two consortia, one of which included Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT), and the other Google (GOOG) and Samsung. The auction is set for tomorrow.

I'd be shocked if GOOG does not go all out and pay some crazy money for kodak patents just to get even with AAPL. I'm sure AAPL will keep bidding to make GOOG pay some exorbitant sum.

Low ball opening bids to be expected. They ll go for s 1.5 billion.
Google should sort out buying VRNG rather than this in my opinion.
