Having had success bringing down executive pay, pension funds take aim at the lush fees charged by PE firms, with the biggest players looking to take the management fee down to 1.2% from 1.5% (from 2%). Bain Capital recently rolled out fee options, offering a near-zero management fee in return for a bigger slice of the profits.
