National Bank of Greece (NBG) submits a bid for Emporki Bank - the struggling Greek unit of France's Credit Agricole (CRARY.PK). With its own domestic issues to worry about, the French lender is keen to unload its Greek operations. Alpha Bank has also put in a bid.

    Credit Agricole, with it's main roots in France, has recently seen a 19 percent drop in its share price. However there was an increase of 7.3 % on Friday. Selling off their Greek operation sooner rather than later will be a positive move for them especially whilst there are still fears of a Greek exit from the Euro..
