The Chevron (CVX +0.9%) refinery fire that sent hundreds of people to hospitals and is pushing West Coast gas prices higher was just the latest pollution incident at the facility that records show has increasingly violated air quality rules over the past five years. The Richmond refinery has been cited by area regulators for violating air regulations 93 times in the past five years.

These guys are really bad--they should be shut down! (!!!!)
(the extra exclamation points add import and seriousness)

    PDRat.........

You stayed longer than I did. I took profits at $104 too bad, I've been in it since 2010. With technical resistance at $112 which it has broken with below average volume I think you were smart to take profits at an all time high.

This company has legal problems across the globe. Management is highly suspect in my opinion.

This plant has "increasingly violated air quality rules over the past five years".
Could this be the same time frame as obama's eco-nazis have been in control of the EPA?
Is this plant really that poorly run, or are EPA administrators under obama trying everything possible to kill our use of fossil fuels?

stout..........."obama trying everything possible to kill our use of fossil fuels"........

Of course, they have killed coal already. And it isn't just the EPA, its also the entire Dept of Energy bureaucracy throwing up any & all roadblocks possible against energy development. All done without a national energy plan!

And If Obama is reelected you know fracking days are limited. Problem is we are a fossil fuel energy driven economy. Even if Romney is elected it will not be easy to weed the activist & obstructionist out of the Dept of Energy & the EPA.

All said, I believe CVX global problems are largely self inflicted, or a coincidence of very bad luck. I suggest though, you make your own luck.
