Lenovo's (LNVGY.PK) ThinkPad Tablet 2 is "the Windows tablet we've been waiting for," declares Mashable's Peter Pachal. Its thickness and weight is close to that of the ARM-based (ARMH) version of Microsoft Surface (not to mention the iPad), but unlike that product, the Tablet 2 runs Windows 8 Pro (MSFT), thanks to its use of an Intel (INTC) Clover Trail Atom CPU. That means it can run existing Windows apps in addition to new Metro apps. Pricing hasn't been disclosed. (Intel design wins)

I have bad experiences with the atom processors... Haven't tried the clover trial variety though, would have to have a hands on.

I share that sentiment spitefulgod, and I've tried a handful.

I find the power of the atom line comparable to ARM processors, and both Atom and ARM-Android products struggle to drive my multitasking habits.

Nicest thing about Windows versus Android or Apple tablets is Displaylink, but Displaylink monitors require some processing power.

I can't wait to spend an hour or two in line to buy my ThinkPad 2. The ThinkPad 1 was so exciting that I never used it much.

I doubt regular Joe consumers will be queueing up to buy the ThinkPad Tablet 2, but I'll wager that businesses ("the enterprise") will be buying them by the thousands...
