The "secular shift" in the mortgage servicing industry away from the big banks and towards specialty servicers (OCN, NSM, NCT, WAC, HLSS, to name a few) is given more impetus as the CFPB proposes new regulations governing interactions with customers.

I'm recently long NCT and up 7.5% already.

NCT looks like a fine company but it doesn't seem to be in the same business as OCN, WAC and NSM. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I took a peek at the profile of most of these and it is "loan/mortgage servicing" that they have in common.

I read up on that and determined that it is a "growth" industry, so I bought NCT.

"Mortgage resolution" is another thing that I want to investigate. I don't know if it is the same as "servicing".

I am mistaken.....NCT and NSM are both spin offs from Fortress....NCT owns part of a bunch of servicing rights that were acquired by NSM.....HLSS, also a REIT, seems to have a similar arrangement with OCN.
