AT&T (T) will begin selling the next-gen iPhone in the 3rd or 4th week of September, a "trusted" source tells BGR. That's in-line with prior rumors that claimed the next iPhone will be announced on Sep. 12, and go on sale 9 days later. Could a week or two of September iPhone sales help Apple (AAPL) beat lowered FQ4 estimates?

Agreed. Everyone (like myself) who was not eligible for an upgrade during the 4S period is waiting for the "5". I also think there is a significant amount of 3G iphones that will be ungraded as well. I will be first in line at my AT & T store when pre-orders start. It will sell more units than the original iphone sold in 2007. Add the iPad Mini, New Ipod Nano and the refreshed Ipod Touch (4 New products all to be announced 9-12-2012. My purchases at 172.00 look better everyday.
Why not get the new products. They are being paid with Apple dividends.

As long as the investors gain, I don't care when it's sold or by what company.

A product release of this magnitude with Apples' infrastructure ready to take orders lends itself to one answer: WHOA YEAH!

I couldn't care less about 4thQ earnings. I will be paying a great deal of attention to Tim Cooks guidance for the first Q. If it isn't at least 13 bucks I will be worried. If it is at least 13 bucks then apple will probably make at least 19.

If they guide to 13, I will be stunned.

Cmon, AAPL always under promises and over delivers. I truly trust the analysts estimates of $750 to $850. AAPL is a no brainer. Not only will the 5 enter the market before the holidays, just wait for the rumors on the iTV....
