Facebook (FB -5.7%) rises 0.8% AH after George Soros reveals he took a 341K share stake in the company in Q2 - assuming Soros held, he's currently down over 30% from quarter's end. Soros also joined Leon Cooperman and Louis Bacon in selling bank stocks, liquidating positions in JPM, C, and GS. Soros no longer has any positions in major financial names. (13-F)

What does "invest in Big Brother's memo pad" mean?

Are you a big success at investing? Or just another ideologue who writes a lot of comments on SA?
    Sour grapes?

Personally, I wouldn't invest in FB, I think it's the next Myspace. But Soros is no Romney (or Trump), he actually started with nothing.

You may not like his politics but for you to comment on his skill at investing is ridiculous.

If you don't understand the statement, you'll not understand an explanation.

    Total cop out.

Must have nothing to do with investing - like I thought, ideologue.

Coincidentally, watched a little cnbc this morning, discussion on some of the better known hedge funds like Paulson's and Robertson's. They commented on how poorly those have done recently, except for Soros'.

It's done much better than the others, now at $25B, he doesn't take investors, it's all his and will all go to charities (and some politics of course). He's already given away $8B.

No one ever said anything about his skills at investing. He is a genius and a multi billionaire to prove it.I just mentioned he is a ruthless person who will wreck economies and currencies. He has done his acts many times. His charities, go to far left causes. His history as an informer against his own people and informing Nazis for personal gain, is public knowledge.I just choose not to trust him.Important information about his holdings are irrelevant. His family, friends, investors and cronies are privy to his genius, not us.Sour grapes?Hardly.

Soros was 13 when the Nazis invaded Hungary.

He donates to progressive causes, I'd like to see some examples
of what you call "far left." Could be true, I don't know for sure but Reagan would be called a leftist these days by the idiot right which has taken over conservative political discourse.

Do you know who David Stockman is? He was Budge Director, the architect of Pres. Reagan's fiscal policy. Do a search, read what he's saying now.

    Thanks.

Do you read anything about about Soros? He donated $100M to Human Rights Watch that can only find human rights abuses against Israel. Not against Hamas,Hizbollah or Syria which has just murdered close to 50,000 of its own people. He is also a strong supporter of Obama who has wrecked the US economy and is allowing Iran to build its nuclear bomb with worthless sanctions and stalling tacticks.I think you are referring to the idiot left, that has made the US into a laughing stock in the war against terror.

    Just as I thought.

The economy was wrecked before Obama took office. He basically continued the Bush bailouts.

The war against terror was started by republicans. The Iraq war was a $3Trillion unnecessary disaster. How did the left make the US into a laughing stock?

You have mixed everything up. No facts. All distortions. You are brainwashed. And unintelligent. Typical.

It's nice to know billionaires sometimes "buy high" and "sell low" just the same as the rest of us "99 percenters" do. :-)

Seriously, selling JPM here is a mistake. A big one in my opinion. But hey, Soros could buy and sell me a million times over, so what do I know?

Soros has been out of touch getting married for the third time these filings are usually 45 days old.Very bad for (FB) Bloomburg filed an article today showing Peter Theil the director of (FB) did an SEC filing last week to change 10 million of his Class B voting shares to Class A selling shares to sell after lock up starting 8/16. Key Insider selling will trigger lots more almost 2 billion shares to be dumped. We are buying lots of puts Nov 18-24 strike. We expect (FB) to be beaten like a rented mule until December.
