German data protection officials reopen a probe into Facebook's (FB) facial recognition technology, saying the company is illegally collecting a huge database of users' photos without their consent. The problem for Germany is that Facebook says its policies are legal in Ireland, where its EU ops are incorporated, while any fine would be a maximum €25K.
