IBM's (IBM +1.2%) acquisition of Texas Memory is a major validation of standalone flash memory systems, thinks JPMorgan. Neither JPMorgan nor Benchmark see the deal as a major threat to Fusion-io (FIO +7.2%), which sells server flash modules. Benchmark thinks H-P (HPQ) might buy FIO to better compete with IBM (ed: the company would be a big and expensive fish for H-P to swallow). OCZ (OCZ +7.9%), the subject of plenty of buyout rumors, is joining FIO in rallying on the news.
