Yahoo (YHOO) has begun searching for a COO to act as its #2 officer, Kara Swisher reports. "Several Silicon Valley execs and others outside of tech" have reportedly been contacted, and Yahoo is said to be interested in "someone with a focus on restructuring and also finance," so as to complement Marissa Mayer's product development skills. Yahoo's new CEO has yet to show any "skills" in development of Yahoo. They are nothing more than a tabloid, in my opinion.

    Current "stories" on Yahoo:

    1. Just How Tall Are These Celebrities?
    2. Kobe's Wife Rejects Claims
    3. Woman Faces Fine for Goodwill

Yes, the CEO is doing a wonderful job changing Yahoo.

There are thousands of recent college graduates with journalism degrees who could be hired to research and write news stories. I believe they are called "journalists." What does Yahoo bring to the table each day? Stories that TMZ won't touch. The CEO and the rest of the gang at Yahoo will never gain credibility as a news source. Does the Board at Yahoo still think she is worth the money they threw at her?

I vote for Marissa Mayers. I hope all of you people who think she is not going to do anything will be kind enough to write again when she is successful in turning this company into a profitable giant. I am long on Yahoo because of Marissa Mayers. Go girl!

I will be happy to write again when Ms. Mayers turns things around at Yahoo.

If the rest of her career is anything like her first month at the helm, I have nothing to worry about, do I?

FYI- She didn't run for CEO of Yahoo, there was no vote. The Board decided to hire her and they will ultimately have to answer to shareholders.
