Sturm, Ruger (RGR) says that on August 15, it's already produced its one millionth firearm of 2012, noting it's on pace to beat its own yearly record of 1,114,700 firearms produced, set in 2011. Last year, Ruger became the first and only commercial firearms company to manufacture one million firearms in a single year.

if you give a money a machine gun a lot of people will be killed or wounded...except the monkey.
When the framers of the constitution granted citizens the right to bear arms, they were thinking of the firearms of 1789...muzzle loading flintlocks that took several minutes to reload after firing one round, and which wouldn't even work in damp or rainy weather. The never imagined assault rifles and glock pistols which can kill dozens of people at a time.

I beg to differ. The thinking was "arms" as in the arms of the time. i.e. back then flintlocks. Today, maybe a M16. How on earth can the citizens rise up against a tyranical government if they are using flintlocks versus a M16?

You may have saw the miner uprising in South Africa. The protesters had machettes and the police had semi-automatic weapons. The result was clear. Never bring a knife to a gun fight.....

Uncle Pie, just pack up and move to the UK they feel the same way you do. So does IL, CA, MA, and NJ for that matter, oddly enough violent crime is on the rise there and falling elsewhere. Take a look at Mexico, same thing. You might not like guns and there is nothing wrong with that, just don't buy one or hang out with those that do.
