Competition in the mortgage market is "essential," Wells Fargo (WFC) tells staff, saying its 33% market share isn't "magic" but the result of doing a better job than competitors. Success is a red flag to the government, and the bank's dominant position is furrowing the brows of various regulators and lawmakers.

"Success is a red flag to the government. . . ." How very well said. And how unfortunate for all--make that "most"--of us that the federal Leviathan (the omnipotence state) has so thoroughly become the enemy of productivity and success. The re-election of Obama, if it occurs, will doubtless be a tipping point, a watershed, in greatly hastening the already steady decline of America as an economic, political, and even cultural power.

Yea because look how well we were doing under Bush/Cheney ,
They took a surplus and turned it into 2 Wars that we can't get out of and has cost us untold $$$$, a banking crisis that nearly collapsed our entire economy, and allowed wall street to wreck our entire housing market with their selling of derivatives. Yea it's all President Obamas' fault!

Typical liberal. Talking points and "Bush did it." No solutions, all blame.

Just the FACTS. Something you right wingers can't deal with. Not to mention that this is not the forum for this type of discussion!
    Have a nice day!

Indeed, it's not the forum for it... so why you come in and dribble out worthless tidbits of blame is a mystery.

I thought Obama's mantra was "Forward." Maybe he and his supporters should heed their own Marxist slogan...

One needs to read the Dodd-Frank bill on how it relates to real estate. We must take care of the stupid.
