More on RBC's downgrade of Clearwire (CLWR -8.7%): Analyst Jonathan Atkin says talks with management reinforced his belief in the value of Clearwire's spectrum. However, he sees "few prosepcts for near- or medium-term spectrum monetization;" is worried future auctions could hurt demand for Clearwire's spectrum; and thinks Sprint's 4G LTE buildout will hurt Clearwire's return on its LTE investment. Also, future spectrum-related moves from Sprint, Verizon, or Dish Network could act as negative catalysts.

What do expect from Jonathan. Let me tell you Jonathan, Sprint's LTE has NO bearing on CLearwire's TD-LTE Network. Here let me explain to you so you get the big picture......

Sprint say they are putting in a LD-LTE and Clearwire is putting in a TD-LTE. Okay so what's the difference? LD is a nice thing to have if you are trying to download text, communication...etc. At a Speed of say 27 mbps (Verizon and AT&T networks)

TD is designed for downloading videos at a record speed of 168 mbps. So Jonathan, as you can see, Sprint has no bearing on Clearwire's network.

The speed of Clearwire's network is why Sprint invested in them....get it!

Thinking small... Major players like Mr Slim and giants on two other continents want a piece of the US market.. I think just because the analyst mentioned a few names doesn't mean that is all the players who need spectrum. And, S has a gigantic investment in CLWR and their not just speculating. They own 50% + loans for a reason. DL
