Hertz Global (NYSE:HTZ) is reportedly soliciting Dollar Thrifty (NYSE:DTG) shareholders for input on a bid price in an attempt to formulate an acceptable offer for the company, as well as probing investors to see if a hostile bid should be pursued. DTG shareholders rejected HTZ’s 2010 bid to buy the company for about $1.2B, who also made another offer last year that it later withdrew due to market conditions. HTZ +1.1%, DTG +0.8% AH.
