GM's European unit Opel reaches an agreement with unions to halt production for a total of 20 days between September and the end of 2012 at two of its four German plants as the carmaker looks to cope with falling demand in the region. Opel will now apply for subsidies under the government's "Kurzarbeit" program, which compensates workers for part of their lost wages. (previous) (PR)

That would be General Motor's European unit Opel, which would render this Market Current useless for people who like to receive alerts on General Electric.

GE ain't no GM, GE is a real company. GM is a joke. Junk, more than any other mfg. Why is GM still around? GM Chevy Volt, and Cruze, case closed. Have you driven a GM lately, I did, I thought it was still 1977, the junk is still the same crap insides, and horrible slop, in steering and brakes. Mr.GoodWrench must be on drugs. See America in your VW, cus the Chevrolet probably won't make it, or cause lots of uncomfortable miles
