Thus far, neither gold (GLD +2.1%) nor the gold miners (GDX +0.9%) seem worried about the possibility John Paulson may have to unload some of his funds' massive holdings to meet redemption requests (ZH: like cockroaches, once one appears, assume many, many more). It seems Citi is redeeming just as gold and the miners are gathering momentum. Bad timing?

I think its bad timing on the gold....but he has other stocks in that fund...but many many more people are going to be pulling out before the cliff hits...think Capital gains..think dividends..

ECB and Fed are ready to jump in with their printing presses & China and India are still buying gold.

    Gold works beyond Paulson.

Well, I know what I would do if faced with the redemptions...
Sell stocks at the top of their 4 year range and keep the gold which has been beat down the last year and is breaking out to the upside...
Oh wait, that is what I did.

Paulson has lots of other equities he can liquidate at gains before he sells gold that he bought at recent lows. Gold is a bit bigger than Paulson. In addition, those redeemers who come out of Paulson go into another fund and you can bet that those other funds will have or want gold.
