After talking with Apple (AAPL) exec Eddy Cue, Pac Crest doubts an Apple TV set will arrive anytime soon. Cue argued the TV user experience is crippled by the forced bundling of pay-TV channels, and suggested Apple would offer an incomplete solution without a new distribution model content owners are unwilling to provide. This helps explains reports Apple is focusing on a set-top box for cable companies, though that market has its challenges as well. (Barclays) (a la carte efforts)

At some point this train ride has got to end. If Apple can't pull some new gadget to sell out of it's hat, is the end in sight?

Not necessarily. Apple has already established itself as a locus of disruptive technologies.People are now tuned to the idea that content or service providers have to change to allow the next gadget to blossom. Providers have shown they cannot do it on their own, and Apple has, so the pressure to change will come from users and pundits while they anticipate a product Apple will introduce into that changed environment. This synergy will persist for a few cycles more.

I am a share holder. This is not what I wanted to hear but to Apple's standards it is not ready if it is going to be like everybody else.It is better for the stock & company to not introduce it to the market.
