In a court filing, regulators call the current six-month ban on deepwater drilling essential to public safety and say the ban shouldn't be lifted. Over a dozen offshore service firms, led by Hornbeck Offshore Services (HOS), had sued the Interior Department and MMS, arguing the ban is causing irreparable economic harm.

    This makes sense for a company who already has rigs and is pumping oil. The moratorium should be applied to exploration and new rigs being set up until things start to settle.

     

    If they win their case I wouldn't doubt that the stock price go up.
