Sen. Dianne Feinstein asks the FTC to investigate a 30-cent rise in California gasoline prices...

Sen. Dianne Feinstein asks the FTC to investigate a 30-cent rise in California gasoline prices since the start of the month, saying prices rose after the fire at Chevron's refinery in Richmond, Calif., even though the incident has not led to a shortage in supply that could justify the price increase. Gasoline prices have increased across the U.S., but Feinstein says they've risen faster in California.

  • What a typical grandstanding political panderer. Prices have gone up nationwide by similar amounts. Must be a conspiracy. Of course.

  • Laugh if you want but anyone who DOESN'T think gas prices are manipulated is just a fool. However, I do agree this is political grandstanding by Sen. Feinstein.

The hurricane is a godsend to Dems and their media supporters because they'll channel all attention away from convention, all week, if possible.

  • Lets see ...supply is lowered...demand a constant....prices up....what am I missing here...?...the new supply to fill the void has to be trucked in from farther away....there are costs involved in that....Feinstein does not have enough common sense to connect the dots...but she gets to Washington how...?

  • Senator Feinstein should direct her questions to her boss in the White House if she'd like to know why gas prices are so high and not just this month in California.
