A123 Systems (AONE -10.7%) crashed to a new low of $0.28 today in the absence of major news. Shares are now 40% below the level they traded at before A123 announced a giant and controversial financing deal with China's Wanxiang Group. The Street may be worried the deal will fall through due to political concerns, or will be dilutive to the point where existing shareholders are left with very little.

Thinking about buying more, just do not think this stock will not recover

This is speculators dream...that is if you have "spare" cash laying around. One small piece of news could double this overnight. It is inconceivable that the principles involved with this company are not sitting in a room crafting a strategy to get this stock back up to a buck....if they are not, they will be subject to lawsuits for ignoring their fiduciary duty to shareholders. I'm in on this one.

"Last August, following a nationwide competition among America's clean-energy technology leaders, Vice President Biden traveled to Michigan to announce that A123 was one of the 48 companies to win a Recovery Act grant for advanced battery technology.
So this is what's possible in a clean-energy economy -- these folks right here, doing extraordinary work. This is what happens when we place our bets on American workers and American businesses. And we're going to continue working to help them manufacture more success stories like these across all sectors of our economy."
    President Obama, April 30th, 2010.

Curiously it seems like an endorsement from the President is the kiss of death for any company :)

I have 2000 shares at .43 cents. A loss is a loss, but would rather break even.

1980XLS- great work. Who's the next one to fall? My best was IPSU from $23, covered at $11. Also GMCR at $111 but covered way too early, and MCP at $65 with a cover at $50. Missed out on the big gains for fear of buy-outs or other unexpected news.
