Metals distributor A.M. Castle (CAS +6.2%) adopts a poison pill provision with a 10% trigger to thwart potential takeovers by giving other shareholders the right to buy more shares. The decision comes after the company last week found itself in the crosshairs of private equity firm Platinum Equity and larger Chicago-based metals distributor Ryerson, who revealed building a 6.1% stake in CAS.
