Video and pictures leak of the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone. Called the L-Series (the phone was previously codenamed London), the device is shown sporting an icon-based interface similar to iOS and Android. Research In Motion (RIMM) is expected to launch its delayed BB10 hardware early next year, after a flurry of Windows Phone 8 devices arrive on the scene this fall.

  • Perhaps RIMM has better patent attys than Samsung.

  • Samsung hung themselves. Did you see the powerpoint presentation that Samsung put together to design their next phones. They literally had side by side comparisons with the iPhone. They literally stole the iPhone experience. RIMM does not have these issues. As a matter of fact, once the iPhone experience gets dated (it's 5 years old at this point), APPL will have to fear MSFT and RIMM patents.

  • I'm not a techie. I get by trying to read everything I can, and think through the implications. I've held RIM( since before the Flood. I recently bought more. Why? Because I believe that Research in Motion is on to something with the new Blackberry 10. As kherman above says, competition will surface for the iPhone. Instinct tells me that those like myself who are NOT Apple people, might just be a larger cohort of buyers of the BB 10 than analysts anticipate.

  • The Software shown in the leaked images is NOT FINAL and has in fact changed since that image was taken. IT WILL BE DIFFERENT!

  • I think RIM has many ways they can take the company. The question seems to be whether or not they have enough time to fix it.

  • Slipkid1850, I share your concern. If the BB10 is delayed, time to hang up on RIM. Altaf18, I did not realize that the BB10 could still see design tweaks, so that is noteworthy. I'm on edge over RIM market share gain or loss with Q2 fiscal 2013 results September 27.
