A deal between Skype (MSFT) and financial clearing provider MACH will allow Skype credit purchases to be directly charged to mobile phone bills. TeleGeography estimates Skype, which Microsoft paid an eye-popping $8.5B to buy, accounted for 1/3 of all long-distance traffic last year. Skype claims it has over 250M monthly users, and that its call traffic rose 40% Y/Y in Microsoft's June quarter to 100B.
