AIG -2.4% premarket as the Treasury is set to become a minority owner of the company - its sale of $18B in stock would leave it with about a 23% stake. With the Treasury no longer holding a majority stake, AIG comes under the regulatory purview of the Fed (by dint of its ownership of a small bank).

stock will end up today as it did the last time there was a placement. This one is monumental, with over allotment and discount stake will be below 15%

government will be out by year end and discount will narrow significantly
