Russian-based potash producer Uralkali says it expects India's potash imports to be reduced to 3.5M-4M tons - as well as limit the room for possible price increases - due to cuts in government subsidies on phosphatic and potassic fertilizers. The company cites high potash retail prices and below-average monsoon rains, which caused weak consumption/demand.
