Most of Wall Street now feels that QE3 is a given, but there are quite a few who think that maybe the countdown will be placed on hold until later this year. "I am not convinced they are ready for it,” says Nomura Chief Economist Lewis Alexander. Not only that, but he doesn’t think the recent economic data, including the jobs data, “demand” the Fed act on Thursday. “The economy is growing slowly," he says "but it is not slowing down.”

Probably nothing. Steady, anemic growth, and an election coming up. Not to mention that while he still might have a few bullets left, he aint got no bazooka and the ammo dump is looking kind of lean. Whatever is left better hit the bulls eye, and it better be saved for when the intruder is barging through the door.

Market will initially sell off quite hard, and then pop right back 'as it prepares for the next round of QE. Tis better to travel than to arrive, and BB knows that...along with many other things which he isn't publicly sharing.

I tend to think the Fed is going to do something but not necessarily the traditional QE. Their focus should be to spur economic growth so they might have something like extending loans directly to small businesses or something along the line. Having said that, I will not be surprised that the Fed announces the third round of QE which has been proved ineffective in stimulating economy and increasing employment.

Pimco's El-Erian thinks it'll likely be a countdown to later this year, too.

They'll probably extend the low interest rates till 2015 tomorrow afternoon; then, announce some sort of QE3 In December after the election so it doesn't appear that the Fed favors either political party although it truly does! So I anticipate flat-line markets till December except, maybe, AAPL stock! Who can overlook such a huge no-brainer investment visa vi a company offering such innovation and a basketful of toys for adults! Apple is a wow!
