More FOMC: We'll hear more from Bernanke soon, but further reflection reveals the true power of today's QE3 announcement. By making the asset purchase program open-ended, the onus now falls onto the hawks to assemble the votes to end it. QE could be Fed policy for a very long time. Stocks, gold, silver, and currencies not nicknamed the greenback all seem to have realized this and moved sharply higher.

I thought this was all "priced into the market" already. When am I going to learn not to listen to the "experts" and go w/my gut? I've made money lately playing GLD and SLV calls, but coulda/woulda/ shoulda made a lot more.

As for the long-range implications of all this, yeah, the U.S. - if not the entire world - is hooked on fiat currency w/no end in sight.

I'd say "God help us all," but that's starting to sound very cliche...

Experts (Robert Prechter [aka Elliot Wave] and George Gilder [aka technology guru]) cost me the better part of one retirement, so I've had my share of lessons as well. Now my decisions are nothing short of stupid according to many...and I am doing surprisingly well.

As for the so-called cliché, your plea is fully justified. We are on an unsustainable course and picking up speed.

You didn't miss the boat if you don't have gold or gold stocks or ETF's ,,,, this is just the beginning as the world loses faith in the dollar. The climb began today.

Leaving the money tap on automatic is a far too dangerous road to travel. If nobody watches the funny money will swamp America. We all know money has a gold like allure to most people.

The only certainty is that this ends any illusion The Fed is battling inflation. This open ended action is a promise of inflation to come.I personally have shifted to junior players to build a portfolio that will rise with rising production and a rising commodity price.
