Facebook's (FB) U.S. PC usage decline isn't just because of mobile, says Evercore's Ken Sena: it's also because younger users are spending less time on the service. comScore (previous) estimates U.S. PC Facebook activity fell 42% and 25% Y/Y in August, respectively, among the 12-17 and 18-24 age groups. Others have pointed out Twitter's relative anonymity and multiple account support is making it more popular with some teenagers.

It's just not cool anymore. Who could have seen that coming?

I agree with the intrusion to privacy part. We are human. We are not just a commodity to monetize for facebook.
I find it disgusting that FB tracks not only FB usage but entire PC usage to sell the data to advertisers .
If we have to compromise on our privacy to be on FB it is a compelling reason not to be on it.

Tracking human behavior isnt anything new. Advertising agencies track your television watching behavior and sell it to other companies to target their audience for commerical slots. Its a big business and Facebook has all the data!

I wonder how people will start to feel when the pressure on FB to monetize the traffic and data causes them to have too many advertising intrusions in the product. Seems to me that's when the real exodus will start, and maybe the beginning of the end?
