Sources say Morgan Stanley (MS +2.6%) plans to spin off FrontPoint Partners, the hedge fund it bought in 2006, following the passage of the financial reform bill restricting bank ownership of such funds. This would mark the first big structural move by a Wall Street firm in response to the Dodd-Frank financial reforms.
