Drilling advances are putting the U.S. on course to emerge “from under OPEC dominance," but the Obama administration is stalling development with excessive rules, Continental Resources (CLR) CEO Harold Hamm tells a House panel. U.S. regulations hinder development by delaying work permits, Hamm says, so his company avoids drilling on federal lands.

  • I agree. Although Obama campainged in 2008 to make the country independent of OPEC within 10 years, he has actually supported efforts to make us more dependent by acquiesing to left wing environmental tecnologies like Solindre that are 50-100 years away from fruition. His objection to something as simple as the Keystone pipeline under the auspices of environmental concers is a classic example. I am very concerned about those who he is listening to.

  • We've lost our sense of balance. People want cheap gas and energy independence but have no clue what it takes to achieve.
The extremities on both the left and the right control the debate.
No matter how you see it this administration is really not pro
business. We're heading towards Socialism and the Russians
and the Chinese are sprinting towards Capitalism. What am I
    missing ???

  • Maybe what you are missing is the inescapable fact that the world is inhabited by a great many people who are either uninformed or misinformed (or is stupid a more descriptive term).
