Motorola Mobility (GOOG) unveils the Droid RAZR i, its first phone to feature an Intel (INTC) Atom processor - a 2 GHz., single-core part. The RAZR i sports a 4.3" display and Kevlar back, but doesn't contain a 4G radio - less of a problem for now in the European and South American markets it's aimed at than in the U.S. Other than the lack of 4G, it bears a strong resemblance to the Qualcomm-based Droid M, launched two weeks ago in tandem with Verizon. Many have been waiting to see if INTC could compete and this is really where it starts.

  • Here is where we find out if Intel has figured how to turn its power hogs into mobile platforms. Personally I doubt it but looks like we'll know soon enough.
