H-P (HPQ) denies rumors the company is shopping its struggling EDS services unit. However, CRN's sources insist H-P has held talks with P-E firms about selling the business, though nothing came of them. The company recently took a major write-down related to EDS, purchased for $13.9B in '08, and the business is expected to see a decent chunk of the 29K job cuts H-P is planning. CRN thinks a culture clash between H-P and EDS is responsible for the acquisition's failures.
