France Telecom (FTE +0.6%) CEO Stephane Richard reaffirmed his company's €8B ($10.39B) 2012 operating cash flow target at a Paris conference, and said FT's Q3 performance had been "fine" in spite of a poor macro backdrop and tough mobile competition. Richard declined to provide new details about FT's dividend plans: the carrier has already said its 2012 dividend will be lower than 2011's €1.40/share.

Confirms my opinion. If nothing is wrong with AT&T, Verizon, British Telecom, Vodafone, then in my opinion nothing is wrong here. Buy it as you would a rental property, collect the rent, (the div.) along the way, at the right time this baby will go much higher. Div. will be cut. Let them for now, we understand.

FTE's recent slump confirms the incompetence of its management.
FTE was simultaneously downgraded by 4 brokers last week, the dividend cut to 0.70 EUR is now consensus - price pressure and Free Mobile seem to destroy FTE and as well its presence in disaster countries such as Spain and Egypt. Management is completely inept at communicating with financial markets. The result: for the first time in history Deutsche telekom shares are wirth more than French Telecom
shares, while they were nearly double in July 2009. It is a shame for this company to have fallen so hard!!

dividend consensus is for 1 this year(0.58 alreeady paid this month) and 0.8 next precise please...
dont forget that french state with 27% stake has an interest keeping the dividend at good level.they need cash more than ever.....
finally spain and egypt are doing ok as far mobile business is concerned.
i see the stock staying in the 9/11 range depending overall market and i like the 0.8 dividend..........
dont forget that free relies on orange network . i will short iliad who is benefiting from classical positive buzz from low cost strategy(wont last) at current levels(all time highs).

Motley Fool once asked if this is the perfect stock, I think it is. It's been stripped down to its bone by investor's disgust of Hollande's 30% tax and discount retainer Llard. For me I see a business that is completely predictable (hey... even more predictable than AAPL 15 years from now) that is paying a monster dividend with or without a cut or Hollande tax. Px investor would be well well rewarded in the long term.
