Citi's Jim Suva is pouring salt on Research In Motion's (RIMM -6.3%) wounds, providing a list of reasons to be bearish on the one-time smartphone leader right after it was hit by a BlackBerry network outage. Among Suva's reasons: no new products for the holiday season, a deteriorating cash position, and RIM's unwillingness to either sell or break itself up.

    very "short" term thinking.

no new products during the holiday season? So analyst only look two-three months into the future and ignore what's coming early 2013?

everyone knows they may likely burn cash in Q2 or Q3, we've known this since BB10 was delayed in the June announcement.

He's looking that close because there is a huge volume of open interest at the 6.00 strike for October. Demand at that strike has been strong recently.

I'm hoping their decision to shut down Tungle on December 3rd means there will be an earlier than expected release date...wouldn't that be a nice surprise for the holiday season. fingers crossed!

I have used a BB for years, but am tired of attachments that won't open, and I have my order in for an IPhone 5. If I am doing this, it's reasonable to think that many other people are doing so also. In other words, BB is losing market share which it cannot get back. I think that the idea of holding on until BB 10 arrives, as if this will be the Second Coming and provide relief from financial woes, is a fantasy. When BB 10 arrives, very few will care. I certainly won't.

Curious. What sort of attached files are you getting that you cannot open?

All the file types listed for iPhone can be opened on the last versions of BlackBerry. Maybe you may find Windows Phone 8 to better fit your needs.
