A report from the FTC finds that tobacco players Altria (MO), Reynolds American (RAI), and Lorillard (LO) are spending less money on advertising as they focus on pricing. It's a bit of an ironic spot for the industry after companies spent billions to develop brand images - only to see products start to become an impersonal commodity subject to the whims of consumers looking for deals.
