"I think we have a clear shot at being the No. 3 mobile ecosystem in the world," proclaims Research In Motion (RIMM +4.8%) CEO Thorsten Heins following his developer conference remarks. That's not exactly what RIM was shooting for a few years ago, but at this point, outpacing Windows Phone would be enough to satisfy Wall Street. Some think BlackBerry 10 gives RIM a chance, but far more are skeptical. Twitter had a field day mocking a YouTube video aimed at developers.

That's NOT what he said. Why not report the factual truth? Here is what he said: "We have a clear shot at being the number three platform on the market. We're not just another open platform on the market, we are BlackBerry."

Third place, in a market as huge as smartphones and mobile computing, would be just fine for anyone buying this stock at $7.

I am always flabberghasted how RIMM bulls follow every word of this CEO. This was the guy who killed the once formidable Siemens handset business, and had to sell it for 1 Euro after running it to the ground over 3 years.

He is just doing what he has always done best: babbling some hot air. He doesn't want to realise that it takes much more than putting an allegedly superior OS onto a piece of hardware to have a clear "shot at being #3".

Best of luck to you longs....

Maybe he's learnt from his mistakes? Not knowing the guy, personally, it's hard to tell!

the pirate ! most people today knows absolutely nothing about the future and technology including those software pirates of today who
are still pillaging and burning the crops of innocent farmers (bankrupting good companies)and this all seems to be legal too !
