Caris has downgraded Intel (INTC) to Above Average from Buy, and lowered its target to $26 from $29. Weak PC growth is the firm's unsurprising reason. Intel is off just slightly premarket - following the stock's selloff and plenty of other critical analyst reports, not to mention Intel's warning, the Street is taking Caris' move in stride.

Pure gobbledygook! Not taking into account Windows 8 due 10/26 and Haswell coming first half of 2013.

gobbledygook indeed! lol! Yielding 4% i don't think Intel has much more downside.... The market always overreacts and is biased to the downside. I think we should see a nice bounce soon... maybe on Earnings in a few weeks.

Intel in the past when announcing a change in the quarter's guidance usually guided down and therefore actual earnings should beat the changed guidance. Nothing assured of course and it may have more to do with general economic conditions. But Intel is also in a transition period and one could expect that sales would reflect this.I mean if I were about to buy a computer would I buy it now?

I'm backing up my truck to get more...4% yield....whoever buys this now won't be sorry later. Hard to pick a bottom but it must be close at hand. They are already putting chips into some smaller smart phones and just wait until Apple changes to the INTC chip for their mobile devices.
