TSMC (TSM) is expected to spend $10B on capex in 2013, a Taiwanese paper reports. Though up 25% Y/Y, that's less than the $11.5B Citi recently forecast TSMC will spend, and if true, is probably a negative for the foundry's major chip equipment suppliers, such as KLAC and LRCX. Chip equipment spending is expected to be under pressure next year thanks to Samsung's planned cutbacks.
