Good question, me too. They have a lot of old pipes, but they are old because they are in great places. Seem to be having an inordinate amount of problems, hope they are not skipping maintenance. Their reaction in Michigan was great, but it had to chew into their reserves and this is a 36 inch pipe.

I kinda miss the days of old like in There Will Be Blood when an iron pulley ripped free from a wooden beam and clocked the guy below, you just buried him in the pit and moved on, when a well blew and blinded a worker, you made a payment under the table to his old lady and took care of her. Shit happens. You suck it up and move on.

Apparently we want to live in a society, the perfect society, where no one gets hurt and everyone has to be held inside a glass beaker tube under fluorescent light.

I miss the days before the trial lawyer. I miss winners and losers and the ones who get in the way playing King of the Mountain who get trampled underneath. That was fun. The running of the bulls. Risk. Getting gored. Feeling the pain in your ribs. Understanding that its no one's fault. Its what life is. The process of life.

Today, you get a paper cut. Then the world stops and waits for you to see if you're okay. Or a kid with a 'peanut allergy' chomps on a nut in their Hershey bar and the Dept. of Homeland Security comes in with lead lined hazmat one pieces and teflon tongs, as the school is evacuated out the back door and the principal screams like her hair is on fire.
