eBay (EBAY) begins testing a service under which a user can send merchandise overseas by shipping their items to a post office box to have a logistics company handle the rest. The company hopes to increase the percentage of sellers willing to sell internationally, currently 41%, by making the process easier and more transparent.

This is a great idea. I've been reluctant to send my gold to Nigeria for consignment sale up to now, but with a post-office box, I'll have more confidence in the process.

(disclosure: I'm in negotiations with a Nigerian general who is going to use my gold to finance the expatriation of his fortune, part of which will soon be mine)
